K - 1st storytime visits:

“We had Carolyn visit our school to help conclude our unit in Animal Habitats and connect to our recent field trip to Luvinarms Animal Sanctuary. The kindergarten students absolutely loved her! She was such a wonderful speaker and was so patient and kind with our students. While she was presenting she included personal experiences that had the students excited to learn more. While she was reading she had props, visuals, and used kinesthetic motions with the students to help keep them engaged. Her book included real facts about animals we have been discussing in class and even some new ones that surprised the group. To wrap up her visit she prepared a craft for the students to create their own mix-and-match animal which was so much fun! We will definitely invite her back for a school visit in the future! “

Each K-1st classroom visit is 30-45 minutes for a maximum of 50 students. Choose from one of the following visits:
#1 Fun, Fact, Fiction!
An interactive story time with both authors.
Games focused on distinguishing fiction from nonfiction.
A craft activity related to the story time books and games.
Q&A as time allows.
#2 Focus on Body Language
An interactive story time with both authors.
Games focused on understanding and practicing nonverbal communication.
A craft activity related to the story time books and games.
Q&A as time allows.
#3 Be an Author!
An interactive story time with both authors.
Brief discussion about finding ideas, and then drawing and writing about them.
Q&A
Opportunity for students to create their own book page. These could be bound to create a classroom book.
